This project focuses on the 'E' in STEM - Engineering. The Engineering Process is a series of steps that enables creative problem-solving. In education we have known this as the inquiry process, challenged-based learning (CBL), project-based learning (PBL) and design-thinking to name a few. This Genius Project creates a series of school specific design-thinking strategies that are built on developmentally appropriate STEM skills, available technologies and are delivered in student-facing learning pathways.
ABOUT THE GENIUS PROJECTS PROGRAM
The 21st Century provides us with the ability to broaden our definition of ‘genius’ to recognise genius in all different types of intelligences. The area of STEM provides avenues for learning new tools and processes to give creativity a new voice. Students, through the support of their teachers and parents, can discover new talents in themselves which they should cultivate so that they may grow into their own genius.
Galileo is quoted as saying, “Passion is the genesis of genius”. This program aims to ignite passion projects to provide schools with the tools and processes to unlock genius in their students, teachers and community.
